Botulirium toxin (Botox) is a derivative of botulin, a food poison, which has been used medically for more than 20 years. It, works by paralyzing muscles. Although it is said, to be completely safe, in my view (and this is beginning; to be supported by research), having frequent injections may lead to more problems - so it should be the last, resort.

Patients not only report itchy eyes, but describe a condition known as twitching eyes. Eye twitching is caused by small muscle spasms below or above the eye and is usually triggered by stress or fatigue. In most cases, the spasm will last a little while and then go away on its own. Most places you'll find if you do the research will tell you that no one knows what causes eye twitching but this is simply because the list is so long that identifying it is rather difficult. The above reasons are simply the most common as well. Other causes could be withdrawal from specific drugs, prescription drugs, neurological disorders, and many more.

For the person with the movement disorder this is an everyday, all-day phenomenon. It's usually annoying, and sometimes more than just annoying. The repetitive muscular twitches and contractions affecting the upper and lower eyelids can even interfere with vision. Fortunately, just one eye is impacted, so the other eye remains open.
